This afternoon at 2pm Eastern, TrendPOV will be airing an interview I recently did with Dr. Amy Vanderbilt. Some of you might remember that TrendPOV gave Fuentek a Spotlight Award a year and a half ago. (It’s amazing what a little NPR coverage will generate!) As part of the spotlight interview, Amy and I talked about how Fuentek is structured as a virtual business.
TrendPOV is revisiting some of their previous award winners, so Amy and I talked again. Some of the topics we covered in this new interview were:
- Has being a virtual company been good or bad for Fuentek during the recession and in these tough economic times?
- What impact has technology had on our virtual structure?
- What does the future hold for virtual workers?
- If I were to start Fuentek today, would I structure it the same way I did in 2001—that is, would I still go virtual?
One of the topics we covered after the taped interview was crowdsourcing, which I’ve blogged about here and at StartUp Beat. Some interesting perspectives… but that’s a post for another day.
