Thoughts about Our First (and Next!) Tech Transfer Webinar

A week ago, I got the chance to put our tips for webinar trainers into practice with our webinar How I Rode the Social Media Wave: Lessons Learned from a Technology Marketing Effort. Personally, I thought the session went well, and the evaluations suggest that the attendees thought so too. I was impressed with the insightful questions they posed throughout the session. I suspect they read our suggestions for how to get the most out of a webinar. That or they come by it naturally!

If you missed the live webinar, you can search for the tweets that went out under the hashtag #socialwave or check out our Twitter® feed for April 7. You also can buy the high-quality video.

Most participants appreciated the webinar format. Although face-to-face sessions are fantastic, today’s constrained travel budgets often don’t allow for this luxury, so webinars are a great option. At Fuentek, we understand that, which is why our social media webinar was only the first of our webinars for technology transfer offices (TTOs). What’s next, you ask?

With the spring semester ending in a few weeks, many university TTOs are in the process of hiring summer interns to screen invention disclosures. These extra hands (and brains!) can add valuable bandwidth to your team, allowing the pros to focus on marketing and deal negotiations. But how can you train the interns efficiently and effectively to get the most out of them this summer and into next year?

One easy way is our May 19th webinar: Putting Your Interns to Work: A Step-by-Step Process for Technology Screenings. This session will help you get the most value out of your interns while helping them get the most value out of their internship with your office. It’s a bargain at $185 – a one-time fee no matter how many interns are in the room. And if your interns aren’t in place by May 19th, you can get the video bundle and show it to them when you’re ready.

In fact, the video bundle is a great buy. Because the webinar will cover fundamentals, it will have a long shelf-life so you can use it for years to come.
