Space-Age Data Integration, XML style

NASA Ames’s NETMARK offers advanced XML database integration for unstructured documents

NETMARK's schema-less integration technique converts information from many different data types into a universal data type to bring all your business information together—when, where, and how you need it.

NASA’s Ames Research Center is looking for licensees for its NETMARK software, a powerful application development tool that can handle integration of structured, semi-structured, and even unstructured documents using unique XML and object-relational models.

The tool is powerful enough to handle the vast quantities of complex, heterogeneous document types within NASA. Other complex organizations can take advantage of NETMARK’s benefits as well:

  • Economical: Eliminates the need to design, develop, and maintain expensive, highly structured relational databases
  • Adaptable: Enables query-based composition of Microsoft® Office documents, Macromedia® Flash® applications, HTML Web pages, etc., and runs queries on Flash, Perl, C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, and other environments that support http and https protocols
  • Secure: Limits query results to the information that users and groups have permission to access
  • User friendly: Offers toolbars for Microsoft® Internet Explorer® and HTML, and is built on W3C international standards, including http, WebDAV, XML, XSL and XSLT

Microsoft and Internet Explorer are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries.
Macromedia and Flash are registered trademarks of Macromedia, Inc. in the United States and/or other countries.

NETMARK’s true value can be seen in helping enterprise organizations make better use of the information they need to make business decisions. It can convert Web pages, text documents, PDF files, spreadsheets, presentations, and other document types into a single, universal data type, then store those data in an object-relational database. Users query the database, and results then can be composed into different data types, including presentations, spreadsheets, and text documents—whatever format you need to disseminate info and make decisions at the speed of your business.
