The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX) is going on this week in Dallas, and Fuentek’s Jaffer Hussein is there representing NASA and its portfolio of materials and coatings technologies. This portfolio of breakthrough innovations will benefit industrial, commercial, and residential uses and is organized on a website to make it even easier for prospective licensees to explore and locate relevant inventions. Stop by Booth ZA-128 to talk to Jaffer about the NASA technologies
Researchers at NASA’s Glenn Research Center have developed a patent-pending method for fabricating aerogel composites for thermal insulation applications — and NASA is now making this technology available for licensing. NASA’s award-winning engineer Frances Hurwitz developed the technology in collaboration with Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI). In fact, the two organizations have a joint-ownership agreement (JOA) in place for the intellectual property (IP). The JOA specifies the roles and responsibilities for patent prosecution and technology marketing, and it authorizes NASA Glenn to represent OAI during license negotiations. Quite frankly, this agreement is a big win for potential licensees:…
This week finds me online discussing a range of topics that may be of interest to our readers. On Tuesday it’s “Achieving Brilliant White Light with Amber LEDs” for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. On Thursday it’s “Using Competitive Technical Intelligence (CTI) Techniques to Assess University Patents” for Tech Transfer Central.
It’s been to the International Space Station. Now it’s coming to you. NASA’s Johnson Space Center is offering for license the 40+ state-of-the-art technologies in its Robonaut 2. The highly dexterous humanoid robot includes innovations that offer benefits for medicine, manufacturing, logistics and distribution, hazardous environments work, and more. A NASA Tech Briefs webinar with valuable information about these exceptional technologies and the licensing process is set for this Thursday, June 20th at 2:00pm EDT and is available via recording. Registration for the “Bringing Space Robotics to Earth Applications” webinar/recording is free.
As you might have noticed from Fuentek’s news feed or on R&D Magazine‘s Web site, NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center has signed a licensing deal with 4DSP. I for one am pretty excited about this tech transfer success because Fuentek has supported Dryden in this effort. Long-time readers of our blog might remember our post about Dryden’s fiber optic shape sensors technology. But our support of Dryden didn’t begin there. We actually started off with a market-based assessment of the technology’s suite of innovations.
